Intro/Letter From the Editor - Ryan Main - Sales

This Holiday issue of the Pik-A-Dilly newsletter marks the beginning of our third year of monthly newsletters to our customers and friends. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our friends, family, and loyal customers a very safe and Merry Christmas, or whichever tradition your family takes part in at this time of year.

Our issue this month centers on holiday greetings from the staff, our manufacturers, and suppliers to our loyal readers. Please take the time to read through them all, as you'll find a reward at the end with the holiday recipe (may not be suitable for younger stomachs)!!

Please also note our holiday hours which are listed at the bottom of the newsletter, as we are closed for a few extra days over the holiday season to allow for staff to spend time with their loved ones.

Again, from myself and the staff at Pik-A-Dilly RV Centre, a very Merry Christmas and all the best for a very successful 2010!! Please enjoy the last newsletter of 2009, we'll communicate again in 2010 with our annual show and sale themed January newsletter.

Dealership News - Don Main - General Manager

Dear friends,

Our company's mission statement is:

..To provide the highest quality products, at the best value, supported by a fine selection of parts, and a skilled service team in order that the most people can enjoy their leisure time..

I think we accomplished that again this year. I’m satisfied that our product line-up is the best it can be at whatever price point you wish to purchase. We are aligned with the best RV manufacturers in the industry and we are constantly working with them to buy at the lowest possible price in order for our customers to be confidant that they are receiving optimum value. Further, we carefully watch the exchange rate for the Canadian dollar, and arrange to buy money at the best possible rate – all in order to serve you better. We continue to invest in training opportunities for our employees, and are always searching for improvement. With more people parking their RV and commuting, our on-site service commitment continues to expand. We are conscious of our customer’s expectations and strive to exceed them.

As a result, 2009 has been a very good year for our company and we anticipate better things to come in 2010. The US economy is improving and the RV manufacturers are gearing back up to full capacity. Therefore, wait times for product delivery will be shortened and our display will be larger.

We have added two new, higher end products to our line-up – Alpine and Avalanche by Keystone – which fits nicely on our lot between the Copper Canyon and Topaz Touring Edition. We will have both brands on display at our annual show and sale in February. We are building inventory almost daily right now, and I invite you to come and browse the 2010’s.

In short, we are extremely excited about the New Year!

On behalf of the entire team at Pik-A-Dilly RV Centre, I would like to extend best wishes for the Holiday Season to you and your family and we look forward to being of service to you in 2010.

Sales Department News - Dave Shepherd - Sales Manager

As the year comes to a close, I would like to thank all of our customers, past and present, for their loyalty in 2009.  The year brought many challenges for our industry as a whole, but with the loyal customer base we enjoy, and the dedication of the people in our building, we were able to turn many of the challenges into positives and make the overall year very successful.

The manufacturers that we are lined up with – Triple E, Keystone, Starcraft, Carriage and Coleman - all survived in a market environment where many either went away or downsized and we look forward to strong growth and even bigger things in 2010.

On behalf of the sales team – Ryan, Mike, David and myself – I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year!

Service Department News - Heather Arthurson - Service Manager

Just a short note this month to let everyone know that we are extremely busy in the service department trying to work through all of the winter service work we have ahead of us. We have recently hired two new technicians in the service shop to help us with all the work ahead. All the staff at Pik-A-Dilly would like to welcome Jeff Henderson and Laurie Smitzniuk, please feel free to introduce yourself if you see a friendly face here that you don't recognize. From all of us in the service department, we would like to extend our  best wishes to you and yours for the holiday season.

Parts Department News - Shannon Davis - Parts

Looking back, we have had some great new changes here in the parts department over this past year, from the rearranging of the store, to new and exciting accessories. We are sure to have many more changes to look forward to as the calendar changes to 2010. On behalf of Jim and I, we would like to wish you the best Christmas and a very Happy New year.

Supplier's Corner

Happy Holidays from everyone at Keystone, including our newest products: Alpine and Avalanche. The Alpine and Avalanche are high profile fifth wheels that will be introduced at Pik-A-Dilly in the upcoming weeks.  The Alpine is considered the “next generation” of fifth wheel with its standard laminated “bedrock” floor system, the “whisper return" air system (which incorporates cold air return grills and a standard heat pump), along with beautiful natural cherry woods, and exterior graphics that have WOWED everyone who has seen it.  Along with the Alpine, the “little bother” Avalanche, which was recently featured at the annual RV dealer trade show, was a huge hit with the standard outside kitchen and space for the whole family. With a huge open area on the inside, there is enough room for everyone to open presents during the Holidays, or even to hold a dance anytime of year.

The excitement level could not be higher about showing the new Alpine and Avalanche.  We look forward to seeing you soon, and please be safe during this joyous season.

District Sales Manager - Alpine/Avalanche

To the Staff and Customers of Pik-A-Dilly RV Centre;

I would like to take a moment to wish Don and Ryan Main and their dedicated staff, as well as all of their customers that have supported Pik-A-Dilly RV Centre and Dometic products, a great and Merry Christmas as well as a safe and prosperous New Year.

It is not often that you see a company such as Pik-A-Dilly continue to offer great and personalized service to their customers over and over, year after year! As a supplier to this dealership, it is wonderful to see how they treat their customers. When the economy is tight, it is sometimes easy to let customer service slide or to offer cheaper products, but Pik-A-Dilly continues to offer top-end, brand name products at reasonable prices. It costs the dealership money to do this, but after years in the business, Pik-A-Dilly knows that their customers deserve the best.

I would like to express my gratitude for their support, and my wishes for a wonderful Christmas and many more years in serving their customers!

Lanny Irwin
Sales Manager/Canada - Dometic Corporation

Seasons Greetings from the staff of Starcraft RV!

With exceptional dealer support from dealerships across North America like Pik-A-Dilly, we are pleased to announce that we will be increasing production to meet rising demand for Starcraft products. This is the first tangible indication that perhaps we’ve turned the corner and can look forward to better business conditions in 2010. At the 2009 Louisville Show dealers were very responsive to our entire line of products from tent campers to our luxury Lexion 5th wheels.  We look forward to a great 2010!
